Remodels & Additions
When you have made the decision to remodel or add on to your existing home, the next step is to decide what to do. You might find inspiration in magazines and in the homes of friends. It is also important to consider the existing architecture and floor plan of your home. If you have a 1920s Craftsman Bungalow, consider adding cabinets and appliances that fit the design style of the era. This will allow your home to have a congruent style throughout and will avoid the chopped up feeling that often comes with piecing together mismatched styles.
Because I specialize in Craftsman and Mid-Century Modern home remodel and building, I am sensitive to the design details involved. Eugene, Oregon and the surrounding areas have a wealth of these wonderful older homes. However, most of them were built with only a single bathroom. Finding space to add a bathroom can be a challenge. Tapping into plumbing and electrical, honoring the architecture, matching window styles and siding are essential decisions that come before deciding on fixtures and tile color.
